... formerly known as Strider. It’s an old joke instigated by a girlfriend back in college. I used to be seen hiking through the snow wearing a floppy hat and carrying a walking staff ... the whole thing. Much has changed since then.

Grandma Hop's Sugar Cookies

A cake-like cookie.

2 cups sugar
½ tsp salt
½ tsp nutmeg
1 cup margarine
2 eggs
1 cup buttermilk
4 cups sifted flour
2 tsp baking soda

Mix well and drop a tablespoon onto cookie pan.
Sprinkle with a little sugar.
You may garnish the top with a couple raisins.
Bake at 400° F for 12 minutes.
My Mom used to make smaller cookies using a teaspoon to measure the dough. With the smaller measure this recipe makes about 6 dozen cookies.
